I hope that you are enjoying a little break over the holidays! Even though we love our jobs & students, taking some time to recharge over the holidays is vital to our success as educators. It gives us a chance to reflect on the many positives from the previous months & get excited about plans for the upcoming months. After all, when we are excited it gets really hard for our students to not catch that enthusiasm. It’s the best kind of virus to have going around the studio.
For our family, the holidays has included eating (way too much) amazing food, catching up with those we haven’t seen in a long while, getting spoiled rotten (sadly only the twins, not us adults) & celebrating 2 birthdays. (My mom & husband missed out on a LOT of birthday parties growing up so it is now tradition to go out for a birthday dinner where we hear about how many birthday parties they missed out on). All in all, a great break from our regular routine that allows us to reflect on the many things we can be thankful for in our lives.
Have a great break & if you are indulging in a little professional development reading … well, I won’t tell anyone if you don’t. Looks like a book review will be coming up in the next several weeks! This book rocks!
