“Song of Pi” is a whimsical interpretation of a special mathematical number. This short, late intermediate to early advanced exploratory piece uses the first 100 digits of “pi” to create a peaceful, through composed piece. Who knew Math could be so relaxing?

  • Concepts: Intervals over an octave, frequent hand position changes, tied notes with melody above, rubato

Note: This piece is levelled at a Late Intermediate/Early Advanced level due to the frequent hand position changes with intervals over an octave.  All other concepts & song length are at an easier level.  This allows students to have a short, exploratory piece that focuses on keyboard geography & a greater range of artistic interpretation.
